Join the community as we rally around the family of local resident and Culver City Police Lieutenant Curt Massey.
Massey was Culver City's first School Resource Officer, and an integral part of the Juvenile Diversion program, which is an effort to divert kids away from criminal activities by engaging them in positive behavior aimed to boost their self-esteem, and respect for others. Curt reached out to the parents of kids in trouble to seek solutions. He used prosecution as a last resort. After speaking to Lieutenant Massey, many soon discovered they were just talking to Curt. He was a 17 year veteran and two time recipient of the Medal of Valor. He was a former Eagle Scout with a son in local Cub Scout Pack 223. He is survived by his wife and three children, ages 11, 9, and 4 years old. A Memorial Fund for his family has been established at the Culver City Federal Credit Union, 9770 Culver Blvd. Culver City, CA. Contributions should be made payable to the Curtis Massey Memorial Fund. |
